Resources

Transportation & Lodging for Medical Care

One of the many things CancerScore Today does is book free travel and lodging for newly diagnosed cancer patients who are traveling for second opinions, or for cancer patients who need to travel for treatment in another area. We know how many things you have on your mind, and this is one burden we are able to take off and provide for you. Below are some of the resources we use, should you like to contact them on your own. If you would like us to provide this service for you, please contact Stacy@cancerscoretoday.com

Email: airconsumer.ost.dot.gov
Phone: 800.778.4838

The Office of Aviation Enforcement and Proceedings with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has established a toll-free hotline to assist travelers with disabilities. The hotline will provide general information to consumers about the rights of air travelers with disabilities, respond to requests for printed consumer information, and assist air travelers with time-sensitive disability-related needs. Complaints can be submitted by email for investigation.

Corporate Angel Network

Email: info@corpangelnetwork.org
Phone: 914.328.1313

The Corporate Angel Network is a nonprofit organization that arranges free flights for cancer patients. Their mission is to ease the emotional stress, physical discomfort, and financial burden of travel for cancer patients. Free flights to cancer treatment centers are provided by using the empty seats on corporate aircraft that are flying on routine business. All cancer patients, bone marrow donors and recipients who are able to walk and do not need medical support while traveling are eligible for services. Eligibility is not based on financial need. Patients may travel as often as necessary.

Joe's House
joeshouse.org
Email: info@joeshouse.org
Phone: 877.563.7468

Joe's House is a nonprofit organization that allows survivors, their families and caregivers to search for places to stay when traveling to another city for treatment. By selecting the city you are traveling to or the name of the healthcare facility where you will receive treatment, you can view a list of hotels, nonprofit housing, homes, apartments, and motels near the healthcare center. Information includes each location's price and distance from the treatment facility. If medical discount prices are offered, that information is listed and you will receive instructions on how to make a reservation to receive the medical discount (remember, if this is done through CancerScore Today, we will pay for the lodging). You can go online or call the organization's toll-free number. The website also includes a list of other cancer resources.
